Madelaine and Mike

This engagement session kept me smiling!! When Madelaine first contacted me, she "warned" me that her fiancé Mike was so against the idea of engagement pictures. He even sent Madelaine an assortment of hilarious yet horrible engagement session pictures he found online. Yet, she finally convinced him to do it!
"We" (Madelaine and I) finally set a date and time for the session.  As it turns out, that date/time was right in the middle of Game 2 of the NBA Finals.  Mike appreciated that!
This couple loves the outdoors and enjoying activities together, hiking and biking local trails.  Madelaine was a trooper hiking to the top of trail in her wedges to get the shot she really wanted!!
Madelaine and Mike were such a fun and enjoyable couple to work with and we laughed and enjoyed the shoot.
They even offered a tip for future couples taking their engagement photos...take a vacation from each other right before the shoot.  Mike was away on business before the session so he was happy to hug and kiss her as much as I needed him to.
I love when clients turn into friends! I know I'll be getting together with Madelaine soon. Love you both!!

Meet Taylor Barnes

This is Taylor Barnes and she is a 16 year old from Chandler, Arizona. The day I first met Taylor we talked about volleyball. She told me she was given an opportunity to go play volleyball in Europe this summer (European Global Challenge). She has played on the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic team for three years and plays Varsity in high school. I could tell right away this girl is going places. She had the most beautiful smile and would light up when she talked about volleyball and being competitive. I mentioned doing a photo shoot with her sometime and she smiled. She said she wants to play volleyball and eventually be sponsored by Nike!! I love a girl with HUGE dreams. She wants to model and be an example to young girls about how important health and wellness are when your young. Honestly, I can see this girl on the cover of magazines, speaking to young girls and playing volleyball at a very high level. She is driven, well spoken, beautiful and makes me laugh!! Watching Taylor and her mom Tiffany dance around and be goofy together makes me smile.

Wedding trend loves

First looks:

I feel like most people get so nervous about the walk down the aisle that they forget to focus on the one thing thats most important. That special moment when you see each other for the first time is being shared by all your closest friends and family. All your first words and reactions have to wait until after you say "I do." I think the more first looks I've been apart of the more I love them. You have a few minutes that are all about the two of you. The groom can have her do a spin, look at his beautiful bride and more importantly he can tell her how breathtaking she is. In that moment all the pressure is lifted and the rest of the day is about promises, love and celebration. I hope this wedding trend becomes less of a trend and more of the norm. 

Bridal Fashion:

I am in love with a few new bridal fashion trends that I hope stick around.

Bow ties. Grey suites. Suspenders

Brides:

Soft Color Palette. Bridesmaids dresses that aren't the same. Gold accents!!!!

Style with Liz:
Tory Burch has been my favorite brand for many years now. Not only is she one of Forbes "most powerful women in the world," but her style is noticed by everyone who sees it. The Classic Tory burch symbol is known by everyone and treasured by those who have her a piece of the beautiful collection. Bright colors, stylish patterns, and classic pieces that completely make an outfit! Not just shoes but clothes, jewelry, and now a makeup and fragrance line! Not to mention, my favorite go-to flats for shooting weddings are Tory Burch!! This brand is exploding with new trends and new ideas to watch out for. What brands are exploding this season? Spring: Fashion tips with Liz

Spring.

When I think of spring I think of a few things. White pants, colored blazers, floral tops, and how much I don’t want to be in a swimsuit.

Given that, when preparing I splurge on a great pair of white pants you cannot see through, a staple colored blazer, and while shopping, pray I find a cute swim suit cover up.

Hair. BRONDE. Brunette and blonde.

I am obsessed with balayage which is the new “painting” technique where they paint on highlights making them blend and be more natural.
